A local Law Increasing Fees for Dog Licenses
Section1.
•1. The dog license fee set forth in subdivision one of Section 110 of the Agriculture and Markets Law is hereby increased to a total of $11.00 for a spayed or neutered dog and a total of $ 21.00 for an unsprayed or unneutered dog. (Amended April 2, 2009by Local Law 2-2009)
•2. The dog license fee set forth in Subdivision two of Section 110 of the Agriculture and Markets Law is hereby increased as follows:
(a) twenty-five dollars, if no more than ten registered purebred dogs or purebred dogs eligible for registration over the age of six months are harbored on the owner's premises at the time of the application, plus $3.00 for each such unsprayed or unneutered dog registered
(b) fifty dollars, if no more than twenty-five registered purebred dogs or purebred dogs eligible for registration over the age of six months are harbored on the premises at the time of application, plus $3.00 for each such unsprayed or unneutered dog registered
(c) one hundred dollars, if more than twenty-five registered purebred dogs or purebred dogs eligible for registration over the age of six months are harbored on the premises at the time of application, plus $3.00 for each such unsprayed or unneutered dog registered. 3. Except for the $3.00 of the license fee paid for each unsprayed dog or unneutered dog or purebred dog which is the property of the State of New York and forty-seven percent of all license fees which must be remitted to the County Financial officer pursuant to Section 111(a) of the Agriculture and Markets Law, the remaining fees shall be the property of the Town of Colesville and shall be used only for controlling dogs and enforcing Article 7 of the Agriculture and Markets Law and any rule, regulation, or local law or ordinance adopted pursuant thereto,

including subsidizing the spaying or neutering of dogs and any facility as authorized under Section 117 of said Agriculture and Markets Law used therefore, and subsidizing public human education programs and responsible dog ownership. (Amended January 4, 1996 by Local Law 1-1996)
4. Said additional fee of $3.00 for each unsprayed or unneutered dog or purebred dog shall not apply if the owner presents a certificate from a veterinarian that the procedure would endanger the life of said dog. (Amended January 4, 1996 by Local Law 1-1996, and April 2, 2009
Section 2.
Such additional fees shall be the property of the Town of Colesville and shall be used only for controlling dogs and enforcing Article 7 of the Agriculture and Markets Law and any rule, regulation, or local law or ordinance adopted pursuant thereto, including subsidizing the spaying or neutering of dogs and any facility as authorized under Section 117 of said Agriculture and Markets Law used therefore, and subsidizing public human education programs in responsible dog ownership
Section 3.
This Local Law shall take effect on January 1, 1988.
